Joyce Chambers Reichard, associate attorney with Kelley & Ferraro spoke with America’s Work Force on Feb. 6 about the ongoing Zantac investigation and how it has been connected to various forms of cancer.
Although Zantac is not connected to all forms of cancer, Reichard mentioned that it is connected to stomach, liver, bladder, kidney, renal, colon, pancreatic and prostate cancer. Reichard said they are still investigating cases, but there is pretty damning evidence that all of the aforementioned forms of cancer are connected to Zantac. She also said that in order to have Kelley & Ferraro take on your case, you would need to be exposed to at least one full year of the drug and develop one or more of the cancers previously mentioned. Kelley & Ferraro are attempting to take on as many cases as possible against Zantac and are hoping more people step forward to help them in their fight.
Ohio Senator Nickie Antonio, representing the 23rd district, joined AWF to discuss why having medicaid is so crucial. She explained a study that detailed the quality of life is higher in communities where the majority of people have healthcare. Antonio also talked about adding audio and visual recording devices in retirement and assisted living homes. With the rise of elder abuse and lack of reporting the abuse, family members of residents can record the proof for themselves and take matters into their own hands, said Antonio.
AWF host Ed “Flash” Ferenc spoke about the State of the Union address and President Trump’s most recent attacks on unions and organizing.
