Executive Director of the Cuyahoga County Veterans Service Commission, Jon Reiss spoke with America’s Work Force Radio Podcast on June 23 about veteran assistance programs.
The Cuyahoga County Veterans Service Commission (CCVSC) in Cleveland, Ohio works with veterans who need assistance on rent or mortgage, financial assistance, memorial affairs, social work case management, Veterans Administration claims and more. Although the veterans are not allowed to come into the office for formal interviews, he said veterans can fill out packets detailing their needs and the CCVSC will reach back out to them. He also said the CCVSC can assist veterans with overdue bills, helping to relieve the pressure of falling behind on payments. Lastly, he spoke about VA medical claims and how the CCVSC can assist veterans with them.
