United Labor Agency works through pandemic to provide resources

The COVID-19 pandemic has ushered in a rarely experienced period of unemployment and uncertainty. There are organizations working to get people back on the job by equipping them with new skills.

United Labor Agency (ULA) Executive Director Dave Megenhardt explained what the ULA does and how they have continued offering their services on America’s Work Force Union Podcast.

Providing services remotely

The ULA used to offer a number of in-person services. From hosting career fair events with local employers, to training events preparing job seekers for the workforce and more.

COVID-19 has caused problems for the ULA.

Despite facing difficulties, the ULA has adapted to what has become the new normal. He said that some job seekers won’t be comfortable with in-person events, even when the coast is clear. For this, he said they will need to keep online resources available.

What is the United Labor Agency?

The ULA is an organization that seeks to be a positive change in communities. They work to help people out of economic hardships through training and other programming.

They work in under-served communities, where jobs have disappeared.
