Bill Samuel, government affairs director with the AFL-CIO spoke about the immigration reform and the United State-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement on the Feb. 28 edition of America’s Work Force.
Samuel spoke about President Trump’s emergency declaration to receive money to fund the southern border wall and how he is taking money from other departments in order to obtain what he needs, since congress would not approve his request for money. He then moved on to talking about immigration reform and how it needs to be done more appropriately. Samuel also mentioned the USMCA, new NAFTA, and how the negotiating between the three countries is complete, but workers are not satisfied by it. There needs to be more protection of workers and their jobs included, along with other labor law reform, said Samuel.
Financial adviser, Dan DeVerna, spoke about understanding certain aspects of your retirement plan, as well as providing some tips, during his Feb. 28 appearance on AWF. DeVerna discussed how new retirement plans are allowing roth IRA’s in 401ks and other retirement plans. He said that you would pay tax on your money one time before it goes in, and then you would never pay tax on it again.
