How to financially plan for the end of your life

Dayna DePerro of Kelley and Ferraro discussed estate planning, where your money goes when you are gone, wills and more when she appeared on the Sept. 3 episode of America’s Work Force Radio Podcast.

DePerro first spoke about estate planning and what will happen to all of your belongings after you are gone. She provided helpful information on how to set up where your valuables and money go.

Next, she talked about how to financially plan before passing on. She said planning for your funeral or service is crucial. It is important to decided if you will have a burial service or be cremated and how much this will cost and where it will occur.

DePerro also explains how you should handle the transfer of any wealth you have upon death, which needs to be planned prior to passing, if possible. She explained the various transferable or payable upon death methods that are available.

Finally, DePerro introduced and explained the different types of wills. She gave instructions on how to have a seamless transition of belongings, assets and wealth.

She said it is crucial to have an executor named in your will. She then said to store any important documents in a safe place where people will be able to find and identify them. In these documents people should list which family members will get parts of your belongings.

Lastly, she said this estate planning will help your surviving friends and family avoid the hassle of probate.
