Cleveland City Councilman Mike Polensek spoke with America’s Work Force Radio Podcast on May 18 to discuss the effects COVID-19 has had on businesses.
The first topic Councilman Polensek covered was the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and whether he believes there will eventually be zero new cases in a day. He then explained how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted businesses. Due to the shutdown, some businesses are being severely affected due to the lack of traffic. Councilman Polensek said the United States is losing businesses because of the shutdown combined with the layoffs companies are making to stay afloat. Lastly, he spoke about American companies showing no effort to keep jobs in the United States and continue to offshore and outsource jobs to cut costs.
Steve Groff from Cover Crop Innovators spoke about the possibility of a food shortage in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. He explained that states and cities will be uniquely impacted because of higher requirements to meet for the quality of crops. Groff went on to discuss the future of farming and improved techniques with cover crops and how it will drastically increase their quality. Finally, he explained why farmers should treat their cover crops as cash crops and also explained some future-proof opportunities.
AWF host Ed “Flash” Ferenc spoke about the attacks on mail in voting and why some lawmakers are adding tougher restrictions on the voting method.
