Coronavirus and its Major Impact on Unions

Pat Gallagher, District Director with the United Steelworkers and the United Labor Agency spoke with America’s Work Force on March 19 to discuss how the Coronavirus is affecting unions.

United SteelworkersGallagher talked about the Coronavirus and how it continues to disrupt businesses and their daily activities. As more information is being discovered about the Coronavirus, mainly how to prevent and take action, businesses across the country are slowing down or closing completely for the safety of their workers. Gallagher said that many companies still have not done anything to protect their workers during this pandemic. Some auto manufacturers have shut down, others have slowed production so that they have less people in the building per day, limiting exposure and possible spread of the virus. Gallagher mentioned that businesses understand the symptoms of COVID-19 and take precautions to ensure the safety of their employees.

I Sell HealthEric Wilson, Owner of Wilson Associates and President of I Sell Health spoke about insurance scammers. In the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, Wilson stressed to listeners that they need to be vigilant when researching new health insurance providers. Wilson noted that there is no better time for a scammer than in the middle of a pandemic, as many are unsure, seeking the quickest, cheapest solution available.
