Attorney discusses asbestos exposure settlement cases

Kelley and Ferraro attorney Brian Kelley discussed asbestos exposure settlement cases when he appeared on America’s Work Force Radio Podcast on Aug. 6.

Asbestos related settlements

Kelley noted that asbestos was a common material used in insulation and was frequently handled by construction workers. He claimed it was a “miracle fiber” that keeps hot things hot and cold things cold.

People then figured out the dangers of the material if the particles are inhaled, resulting in the halting of production.

Kelley then explained what happens to asbestos after it is installed. If properly installed and left undisturbed, the asbestos is harmless. If the particles are released into the air due to improper installation or a disturbance, problems arise for everyone in the area.

Asbestos exposure is the number one cause of mesothelioma and a contributing factor to many other ailments.

Kelley said his firm works on settlement cases for former asbestos manufacturers. The mission is to get financial compensation for those affected by asbestos-related diseases, even if the manufacturer no longer exists.

Later he discussed cancer cases related to the weed killer Roundup. Cases can be linked back to production of the product. Additionally, Kelley made comments about an ongoing case his firm is handling involving Zantac, the heartburn medication. Some who used the heartburn drug were later diagnosed with cancer.
