America’s Work Force Focuses on Prescription Drug Prices

Norm Wernett, head of the Ohio Alliance for Retired Americans spoke with America’s Work Force on Sept. 20 about prescription drug prices.

Norm Wernett Alliance for Retired AmericansWernett spoke about prescription drug prices and legislation being introduced to lower the costs to make them more affordable. He talked about prescription drug prices in the United States being so unaffordable compared to other countries and what could be done to fix that problem. Wernett then spoke about the Lower Drug Cost Now Act which would help control these outrageous drug prices and help lower them to make them more affordable and stop putting people at risk who couldn’t afford their prescriptions. Lastly, he talked about social security benefits per month increasing, which would also help retired individuals be able to afford their prescriptions.

Mark Seavey American Legion MagazineMark Seavey, editor with the American Legion magazine spoke with AWF on Sept. 20 about the October edition of the American Legion magazine. One of the topics highlighted in this issue was the Legion Act which addresses veterans hard adjustment to civilian life. He talked about how soldiers have a hard time adjusting back to civilian life and struggling with mental health. He also talked about foreign aid and and the power of relief and assistance.

AWF host Ed “Flash” Ferenc talked about General Motors taking away health insurance and other health benefits from striking United Auto Worker members and how it could spark a recession.
