University of Vermont Professor Discusses Welfare Reform on America’s Work Force Radio

Author and professor, Dr. Felicia Kornbluh explained her thoughts on Welfare reform on the Nov. 27 edition of America’s Work Force Radio.

Felicia KornbluhKornbluh, who teaches at the University of Vermont, discussed her book Ensuring Poverty: Welfare Reform in Feminist Perspective. She provided an overview of welfare reform in the U.S. over the years and talked about the perceived problems people have with the U.S. welfare system, such as the requirements needed to receive it. Kornbluh spoke about ways to improve the system, which could help welfare recipients, who struggle to make ends meet despite the help.

She said change begins at the local level. Swernoff felt the result of the 2018 midterm elections was a step toward a more progressive country.
