Union Member Opinions Discussed on America’s Work Force

Dave McCall, international vice president of the United Steelworkers spoke with America’s Work Force on Jan. 24, to discuss getting the opinion of union members on different issues and legislation brought up in government.

United SteelworkersMcCall explained why it is important to listen to your union members opinions on issues and legislation discussed by candidates and other lawmakers. He said it is important for union leaders to know what their members want, and what they support or are against. McCall spoke about transparency and proper communication with your membership. He continued on about leaders listening to what members would like to see with regards to safety and procedure. He also talked about the newly passed paid parental leave.

John RussoJohn Russo, writer with Working Class Perspectives spoke about his new article “Beyond Policy: Why Democrats Need to Show White Working-Class Voters Some Respect.” This article covers topics such as voter registration, economic inequality, medicare and middle class voters. He explains the important role that working class voters play in elections and why their voice matters.

AWF host Ed “Flash” Ferenc spoke about strengthening and protecting social security and medicare. He also talked about the impeachment trial against President Trump.
