Mark Seavey, editor and blogger with the American Legion Magazine spoke with America’s Work Force on May 17 to speak about the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
Seavey spoke about the June edition of the American Legion magazine, and the articles that are featured inside of it. He spoke about an article describing events that went down on D-Day, such as how much of a struggle soldiers were having landing on target due to extreme winds that day. Seavey also talked about how bravely the United States fought that day, given the weather conditions and the German’s not being ignorant to U.S. plans to attack that day. He then went on to talk about the very first G.I. Bill and the positive impacts that it had on soldiers when it was first created and where it is now.
Rich Fiesta, executive director of the Alliance for Retired Americans spoke with AWF on May 15 about stabilizing the Affordable Care Act, and controlling prescription drug prices. He also talked about strengthening social security and healthcare. Lastly, Fiesta spoke about a social security scam where scammers are contacting social security recipients disguised as social security representatives. During this scam, scammers will tell the victims that their accounts have been compromised and ask for their social security number so they can fix their problem and then will steal their information after they are provided with the social number.
