Jack Metzger, professor emeritus of humanities at Roosevelt University in Chicago spoke with America’s Work Force on June 28 to discuss social class and race.
Metzger began his time on AWF by talking about the Democratic debates that took place earlier this week. He reviewed what he liked and what he disliked about the change in policy that was discussed by the candidates. Metzger then talked about certain legislation being brought up by congress that would disproportionately benefit certain people while leaving others out. Lastly, he thoroughly talked about how the redistribution of wealth will help families who are living in poverty and give their families a second shot at life.
Donnie Black, United Steelworkers District 1 in Ohio, spoke with AWF on June 28 about leadership changes in their organization. With the current international president, Leo Gerard retiring, Tom Conway will assume the role as president. With the changes in leadership, Black said that they will still be reinforcing the idea that they need to continue to fight for their union and to keep pushing for collective bargaining.
AWF host Ed “Flash” Ferenc talked about unjust CEO pay and a Supreme Court decision on how districts are drawn.
