The Nation Magazine Reporter Details Auditing the Pentagon on America’s Work Force Radio

Author and investigative journalist, Dave Lindorff joined America’s Work Force Radio and discussed auditing the Pentagon.

Lindorff, who works as a contributing writer for The Nation Magazine, talked about his cover story called The Pentagon’s Massive Accounting Fraud Exposed. He said the Pentagon’s budget is increased every year, but no one knows how the money is being spent, the actual amount spent or how much money the Pentagon needs to operate next year. Lindorff called for an auditing agency to audit the Pentagon from scratch, keep track of every transaction and ensure the American public every dollar is properly spent.

Patrick Gallagher, President of the North Coast Area Labor Federation, also appeared on the Dec. 20 edition of America’s Work Force Radio and spoke about the United Steelworkers newly ratified contract. Gallagher then discussed the AFL-CIO’s push for unions to secure more bargaining power and economic security of the working person. He said men and women ages 18-34 have a 65% approval rating for unions.

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown Talks Potential White House Candidacy in 2020 on America’s Work Force Radio

On the Nov. 15 edition of America’s Work Force Radio, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown talked about potentially running for the White House in 2020.

Senator Sherrod BrownBrown talked about his record of always looking out for workers and the dignity of working. He also told America’s Work Force Radio host Ed “Flash” Ferenc that he will mull over a possible 2020 White House run over the holidays. The winner of the 2020 Democratic Party primary would likely face-off against current Republican President Donald Trump.

Chris Gelardi The Nation MagazineChris Gelardi, editorial intern at The Nation Magazine, discussed his article, “Jeff Sessions’s Legacy will be Catastrophic for Asylum Seekers”. He talked about a controversial case where Sessions made a decision to not grant asylum to a victim of abuse for more than a decade. In his decision, Sessions wrote, “…claims by aliens pertaining to domestic violence or gang violence…will not qualify for asylum.”

United Steel WorkersPatrick Gallagher, United Steelworkers Sub-District Director and North Coast Area Labor Federation President, gave his opinion on the results of the midterm elections. He believe said the midterms were not a total loss for workers. Gallagher talked about the new four-year contract the USW ratified with U.S. Steel.

Ferenc discussed the new Amazon H2 headquarters in New York and Virginia and high cost it will have on taxpayers.
