Binstock spoke about the issue with businesses misclassifying employees as independent contractors so that they do not have to offer health benefits, can pay hourly rates, don’t have to reimburse for business expenses, as well as many other reasons. In return, Binstock discussed how this is unfair for businesses to have their employees sign contracts saying that they are independent contractors to avoid certain expenses. Binstock also talked about how the National Labor Relations Board was put in place for employees to file complaints about job sites, unfair labor practices, contract negotiation complications, and more, and help the employees settle their complaints. He said that around 95 percent of these cases are solved on a local level, and the rest move on to Washington D.C. to be solved.
