Stagnant Wages Discussed on America’s Work Force

Dr. Jill Stein, two time green party presidential candidate, spoke to America’s Work Force on May 10 about stagnant wages and increasing healthcare costs.

Dr. Stein said that one of the biggest problems right now for workers is that wages have been stagnant or barely increasing, while the cost of healthcare is skyrocketing. Next, she discussed medicare for all and that healthcare is a human right and should be accessible to all United States citizens. Dr. Stein also mentioned climate change and how the human race is directly responsible for the endangerment and extinction of a large amount of species.

The Labor Citizen

Tom Germuska, Jr. editor of the Labor Citizen, spoke with AWF on May 10 to give a preview on the May edition of the Labor Citizen. He then went on to talk about how construction work is still one of the most dangerous lines of work, even though the death rate from work related injury is decreasing. Furthermore, Germuska spoke about increased education on opiates and raising awareness for the increased number construction workers becoming addicted to opiates because of pain and injuries sustained on the job. Lastly, he talked about the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades day of community action on April 20.
