Learn How to Protect Yourself Against Unwanted Telemarketing Calls and Scams on America’s Work Force Radio

Listeners of the Dec. 10 edition of America’s Work Force Radio learned how to protect themselves from unwanted telemarketing calls and phone scams.

Dan Doron Ohio Consumer CounselDan Doron, from the Ohio Consumer Counsel, talked about the steps people should take to prevent unwanted telemarketing calls from reaching them. He urged individuals to sign up for the national Do Not Call registry, which should help them reduce the amount of unwanted phone calls received from telemarketers. He discussed how to prevent being scammed by fraudulent telemarketers. The warning signs, Doron said, of a phone scammer are if they ask for credit card information, account numbers, or any other personal information.

Laborers Local 860 ClevelandLaborers Local 860 Business Manager/Secretary-Treasurer Tony Liberatore joined America’s Work Force Radio and discussed workers’ pay, along with So-Called “Right to Work” legislation. He also talked about Ohio’s infrastructure and discussed the need for infrastructure improvements throughout the U.S. as well.

AWF host Ed “Flash” Ferenc spoke about the possibility of Tesla taking over shuttered General Motors factories. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said there is a possibility the electric car manufacturer could buy the plants, if they close.
