Dario Hunter, Green Party presidential candidate spoke with America’s Work Force on July 10 about education and Protect the Right to Organize Act, also known as PRO Act.
Hunter first spoke about schools in Youngstown, Ohio and how, as of lately, they have been financially strapped and unable to put more money into their schools. As a former member of the Youngstown Board of Education, Hunter saw all of these problems first-hand and knew something needed to be done. He said that the government would rather put money into war, which they could profit off of, rather than investing in children’s education. Hunter then talked about the PRO Act and how it will allow workers to unionize freely without the fear of repercussions or harassment from their employers. Lastly, he talked about human infrastructure, such as healthcare, and how legislators need to compromise and move forward on certain pieces of legislation.
Tom Germuska, Jr., editor of the Labor Citizen joined AWF on July 10 about the July issue of the Labor Citizen. He talked about Michigan potentially closing an oil pipeline based on the decision of a lawsuit. He also discussed the Ohio House Bill 6, a rally in Cleveland in support HB 6 and how it is backed by labor unions.
AWF host Ed “Flash” Ferenc speaks about the fight for $15 and how some lawmakers believe it will help get people out of poverty.
