Dave McCall, vice president of administration with the United Steel Workers spoke with America’s Work Force on Nov. 22 to discuss legislation aimed to fix broken labor laws.
One of the major topics of conversation in Congress lately has been Protect the Right to Organize (PRO) Act. The PRO Act helps protect workers who are trying to organize and draw up better contracts from being attacked by their employers for their attempts. McCall talked about House Resolution 2474 which is legislation drawn up to help fix labor law problems, and stop the abuse on workers who are trying to organize, much like the PRO Act. He said that when employers attack their employees for unionizing, it is just further proof that they are scared of collective power from workers and do whatever it takes to keep them weak.
