Federal Employee Pay was the Main Topic of Discussion on America’s Work Force

Arnold Scott, American Federation of Government Employees district 6 national vice president spoke with America’s Work Force on April 17 about the government’s attack on federal employee pay.

AFGE American Federation of Government EmployeesScott began his time on AWF by talking about a newly proposed budget and how it will hurt federal employees and their pay. He then went on to talk about how no federal employees have paid parental leave and how he believes that it is unfair for them. According to Scott, only 14 percent of companies in the United States allow paid parental leave and he believes that number is way too low and needs to go up. Lastly, he discussed H.R. 1140, which deals with transportation federal security.

The Labor CitizenTom Germuska, Jr. editor of the Labor Citizen spoke with AWF on April 17 about the North American Building Trades Legislative Conference and gave a brief overview of what went on there. He said one of the many cool things that occurred at the conference was nine Democratic candidates for the upcoming 2020 presidential election spoke and talked about what they are bringing to the table. He also talked about Workers Memorial Day, which is on April 28, and events in the area to celebrate the day. Lastly, Germuska spoke about the May edition of the Labor Citizen.

AWF host Ed “Flash” Ferenc spoke about UAW workers at Volkswagen Chattanooga plant working hard to unionize.
