President Trump’s broken promises of bringing auto manufacturing jobs to the United States were discussion during the Jan. 17 edition of America’s Work Force.

John Nichols, national affairs correspondent with The Nation, discussed the shutdown of auto manufacturing plants around the United States. He talked about how during President Trump’s campaign, he claimed that not only will he keep auto manufacturing jobs in the U.S., but he will bring in more. Nichols mentioned how not only did he lie about bringing in jobs, but more than 15,000 auto workers are losing their jobs due to plants closing down and moving jobs to Mexico. He also talked about his 2018 Progressive Honor Roll.

Davida Russell, Ohio Association of Public School Employees/American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (OAPSE/AFSCME) discussed the new congress and what to look forward to in 2019. She said that in 2019, she would like to see people holding the elected representatives more accountable and make sure they keep promises that they make. Russell also talked about union strength and organizing.
AWF host Ed “Flash” Ferenc discussed President Trump gaining United Auto Worker support during his campaign by making promises of more jobs but ended up falling incredibly short.
