AT&T Tax Scam Reviewed on America’s Work Force

Frank Mathews, administrative director for the Communication Workers of America District 4 spoke with America’s Work Force on Nov. 12 about the AT&T tax scam.

Communication Workers of AmericaAT&T had previously asked for tax breaks and in return, for every billion dollars they made, they would create 7,000 jobs. Since they have been receiving their tax breaks and making multi-billions in profit, AT&T has been cutting and offshoring their jobs, completely going back on their promises to workers. Mathews said that AT&T continues to go back on their promises and is helping out Wall Street more than their own workers. Next, he talked about Protect the Right to Organize (PRO) Act and the CWA will endorse lawmakers who vote for it. Mathews said he would like to see this become a bi-partisan bill because he feels this is such a big step for worker protection and rights.
