At-Will Employees Discussed on America’s Work Force

Justin Madden, lawyer with Justin Madden Co. LPA spoke with America’s Work Force on Sept. 13 to discuss at-will employees.

Justin MaddenMadden began his conversation by talking about how Ohio is an “at-will” state, which means that employees could be fired at the discretion of their employers, at any time, for a good reason or no reason at all. That being said, an employee could do everything that their job required them to do and do it well and their employer could still hypothetically fire them. Madden said that in a private sector, this would not be the case, so only public sector workers are affected by working in an at-will state.

Progressive PopulistJim Cullen, editor of The Progressive Populist was the second guest on the Sept. 13 edition of America’s Work Force. Cullen spoke about the Trump administration and what America will be like after he leaves office. He also talked about President Trump having members of his administration admit to things that he may have done that were not necessarily legal, to divert the attention and bad publicity away from him.

AWF host Ed “Flash” Ferenc talked about Uber and the company misclassifying their employees as independent contractors and the trouble that comes with it.
